When we remove your braces, we will begin the retention stage of your treatment.
Shown at the right are Essix retainers. We use these retainers to hold your teeth in position after you have completed Full or Phase II treatment. You should wear your retainer every night! Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you’ve put in so far. Remember to remove your retainer before eating, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth.
PHASE I retainers (shown below) should be worn all of the time (day and night) except when you are eating. Here is an example of a Phase I retainer. You will wear this until it is determined whether or not you need to begin Phase II treatment. Pick out your favorite color!
